Your Pets
Traveling with our furry friends presents challenges and great fun along the way. The St. Ignace community provides animals with support in many ways. Our stores carry feed, equipment, supplies, toys and snacks for many types of animals. The local animal shelter offers refuge to the lost and abandoned as well as adoption services to interested families. Grooming services are top-notch at the parlors, just in case Fido meets a skunk! An area kennel will board pets in clean and healthy surroundings. Our local veterinarian provides her services to the sick and injured as well as maintenance health checks and prescriptions. Many of the lodging businesses allow pets and you can select "Pets" on the business list in "Lodging" to choose pet-friendly accommodations.
Wild animals are a common sight in our community. When one is sick or injured, do not approach or assist. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will respond to such calls. DNR Field Office in Newberry: 906-293-5024.
