Ferry Companies
Three passenger-ferry lines operate from the harbor of Moran Bay offering Mackinac Island visitors round-trip passage. The schedule might include a tour of the Mackinac Bridge with an educational narration during the crossing. Season opens when the ice goes out in spring and runs until after New Year when the ice freezes over.

Boat Cruises

Our port offers water-borne excursions for a variety of adventurers.
Sunset Cruises on the Straits of Mackinac are very popular as sunset occurs so late in the evening this far north and the vistas of sky and water are spectacular. Your cruise will include passage under the Mackinac Bridge and close-up viewing of Mackinac Island. Star Line hosts these cruises on Monday evenings during July and August.
Vespers Cruises - Song and prayers provide solace to the soul and spirit as the scenes of shore and shoal pass by. Arnold Line offers this cruise on Friday evenings during July and August.
Lighthouse Cruises - A fabulous opportunity for lighthouse buffs, includes short- and long-day cruises of even a two-day adventure. Offered by Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry.
Soo Locks Boat Tours - See all four U.S. locks, St. Mary's Rapids, giant hydro-electric plants and historic Canadian Lock. Experience "locking through" from Lake Huron to Lake Superior. Cruise underneath International Highway Bridge, and get a sailor's view of many interesting sites. Cruise along side giant lake freighters and ocean vessels.

Hazelton Street – four boat ramps, a protected breakwall, paved parking, fish cleaning station and restrooms.
City Dock #3 – one double-wide ramp, a protected breakwall, paved parking, restrooms, picnic area with grills, pavilion, playground.
St. Ignace waterfront parks – the waterfront public access district, maintained by the City of St. Ignace. Phone 906-643-8545.
Kiwanis Beach – features a sand beach, picnic area and pavilion overlooking Moran Bay and Mackinac Island, historic site of Native American village.
Huron Boardwalk - this planked wooden walkway traverses the waterfront north to south and has educational historic markers along the route. It begins at Kiwanis Beach behind the Indian Village and terminates at American Legion Memorial Park.
Wawatam Viewing Pier and Lighthouse - the old railroad termination point at the Straits of Mackinac is now a viewing pier with a working lighthouse. The remains of the old structures used to raise and lower the train track ramps, the counter weights for balance, are part of this shoreline location. Old rail cars, including an authentic caboose, are adjoined to local business buildings.
American Legion Memorial Park – features memorial flag pavilion, beach, picnic area, seating pavilion, playground, restrooms, horseshoes and volleyball area.
City Park, Dock #3 – overlooking Mackinac Island, pavilion, picnic area, large playground, viewing and fishing pier, boat launch, restrooms.
Mackinac Bridge and Bridge View Park - located on the shore of the Straits of Mackinac with the park just west of the Mackinac Bridge Authority toll plaza. The observation center contains interpretive presentations of the Bridge and its history, the picnic pavilion offers a spectacular view of the Bridge for photo opportunities.
